The entire seminar on Distinguishing Phenomena and Pure Being as taught by Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche at KSC is available on one cd disc, playable on computers with Windows Media Player. These audio recordings of the seminar are for sale through KSC now for $25.

Please email or call if you would like a copy of this valuable tool for study and practice. KSC will only mail out cd's if there's no possibility that it can be picked up from the Lama Residence or brought to a class at another location.

CLASS FOR BEGINNERS:

Class for Beginners: Tuesday evenings 7:30 p.m.
KSC Clergy Residence in El Portal


Teachings include the Four Thoughts that Turn the Mind toward the Dharma, contemplations so necessary to practice that they even begin a traditional 3-year retreat. Beginners will use these four thoughts as a foundation for all future practice. Meditation techniques are taught for calming the mind. Time for practice is included in each class. Other subjects taught: the Extraordinary Preliminary Practices, generating bodhicitta, the mind of compassion, and tong len.

Sundays 8:30 a.m. Butterlamp offerings, meditation, chanting the sadhana of Green Tara/ Medicine Buddha.

Butterlamps are a traditional Tibetan offering. This “Offering of One Hundred” includes 108 butter lamps, 108 bowls of saffron water, rice, flowers and incense. Participants chant the sadhanas keeping in mind special prayer requests made that particular day.

Tuesdays 7:30 p.m.

 Beginners Class
Learn meditation and basic Buddhist philosophy. There will be time for sitting meditation, chanting meditation and/or preliminary practices after the teachings.


Fridays 7:30 p.m.
Chanting of Gonkar (White Mahakala) and Chadrukpa (Black Mahakala) along with short instructions in these practices. This session is restricted. Please call the Residence for information.

Prayers can be requested by offering as many butterlamps as you wish, at $1 per lamp ($50 for the entire 108 lamps) or by offering flowers, incense or saffron. Prayer requests are read to the congregation prior to chanting.
These offerings can be made requesting prayers for loved ones who are ill, for the deceased, for special times or needs, or simply for both inner and outer peace.

You can make your prayer request by mail, by phone, email or fax, and send your check to KSC. Or you can make your request online.
